The Metropolitan Museum of Art will host several media opportunities ahead of its reopening to visitors on August 29.

Wednesday, August 26, 11:00 to 11:30 a.m.: Virtual Press Event
Join us for a virtual press event featuring LIVE remarks from Daniel H. Weiss, President and CEO, and Max Hollein, Director, broadcast from The Met’s iconic galleries. The program will feature a first look inside Making The Met, 1870–2020; andremarks from artist Héctor Zamora on his commission for the Cantor Roof Garden.

Thursday, August 27, 10 a.m. to noon: Exhibition Press Previews
Media are invited to view the three exhibitions that will debut on August 29—Making The Met, 1870–2020The Roof Garden Commission: Héctor Zamora, Lattice Detourand Jacob Lawrence: The American Struggle—from 10 a.m. to noon and then explore the Museum during the Member preview hours that day from noon to 7 p.m. Exhibitions that opened shortly before the temporary closure and have been extended will also be open in the afternoon, including Sahel: Art and Empires on the Shores of the Sahara (through October 26); In Pursuit of Fashion: The Sandy Schreier Collection(through September 27); and Photography's Last Century: The Ann Tenenbaum and Thomas H. Lee Collection(through November 30).

Saturday, August 29, 10 a.m.: The Metropolitan Museum of Art Reopening
At 10 a.m., The Met will reopen its doors to visitors. Photo opps will be available with Daniel H. Weiss, President and CEO of The Met, and Max Hollein, Director of The Met, on the front steps of the Museum.
