SIMON KIDD

Simon Kidd is a young artist working in clay who graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2018. I’ve been following his work with interest since then, and am delighted to present an online exhibition of 26 of his works for you to enjoy.

I was lucky to meet him right at the start of his career, spending time in his studio looking and talking through his work. He speaks in an effervescent way, words tumbling out, connecting the work in the studio to the ideas that gave birth to them and also the future evolution of those ideas.

Sophia interviewed Simon in advance of this exhibition. It’s a challenge to capture his thoughts - he travels in 10 directions at once - but it does give a hint of where his creativity comes from and where it is going. I hope you’ll take the time to read the interview.

To have the opportunity to exhibit important contemporary and 20th century artists in my gallery is something I am grateful for. To show emerging talent, and be part of the start of their journey, is the counterpoint that makes having a gallery complete.
