GENTA ISHIZUKA: INTERNAL
Private View: Wednesday, 29th May from 6-8pm, Artist Present
Taxis Groove - Red Flow, 2024
Erskine, Hall & Coe are delighted to hold a third exhibition of work by acclaimed Japanese artist, Genta Ishizuka. As the winner of the annual LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize and The Best Young Artist Award by the City of Kyoto in 2019, Ishizuka is internationally recognised for his outstanding achievements in lacquer and represented by important public collections, including The British Museum and The Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
The fundamental concept behind Internal is the relationship between a membrane and its internal structure. Ishizuka describes this body of work as a "visualization of energy being pushed out from the inside, and my attempt to indicate the relationship between the inside and the outside on the surface."
We hope you will join us at our Private View on Wednesday, the 29th of May from 6-8pm for a chance to meet the artist and celebrate his latest work. The show will comprise twenty-two new works in lacquer and continue until the 21st of June.
We would like to thank ARTCOURT Gallery for their generous help in making this exhibition possible.
