paul hackt – Hackathon at Zentrum Paul Klee
With the Hackathon paul hacktthe Zentrum Paul Klee is taking another step towards the digital future. On Friday, 12 May and Saturday, 13 May 2023 the Museum is inviting developers, designers, art experts and art educators to develop digital prototypes together.
The Zentrum Paul Klee is the global centre of expertise on and about Paul Klee. It holds a collection of some 4,000 works of art, as well as correspondence, photographs, natural objects and Klee's complete library. Researchers devote themselves to exploring the life and work of the multifaceted artist. The Museum is committed to making the Klee collection and archive visible and usable in an intuitive and innovative way. In order to develop new digital solutions, the Zentrum Paul Klee invites committed amateurs and seasoned professionals to engage in an exchange of ideas in the context of a hackathon. This hackathon is supported by the innovative specialist expertise of the software company GARAIO, and made possible by generous funding from the BEKB Forderfonds.
About the Hackathon
In paui hackt, interested parties come to the Zentrum Paul Klee singly or as a team for two intensive days. Participants develop ideas for possible ways in which visitors and users can engage adventurously with the Museum, both inside and out. Each team develops a prototype for one of three challenges:
- Cosmos Klee: hybrid development of the changing exhibition
- Ways to Klee: a physical and digital rediscovery of the existing tour of the city
- Web platform: making the archive and collection actively accessible to laypeople and researchers.
The projects are assessed by a jury. The winning projects receive cash prizes totalling CHF 10'OOO.
The hackathon takes place on Friday, 12 May, from 9 am until 2 am and on Saturday, 13 May 2023, from 6 am until 6 pm in the Zentrum Paul Klee. Participation is free and registration is obligatory.
