Opening of exhibition "1964-2014 History of a gallery" in The Goethe gallery

The Goethe gallery at the end of December 2014, after 50 years, closes the historical space in Via della Mostra and moves to ViaCappuccini, in the current Goethe2 gallery, which has since been renovated and expanded and which in the future will take the name of Alessandro Casciaro.

For the occasion there has been programmed a large retrospective exhibition, 1964-2014 History of a gallery, distributed at both locations, which will be inaugurated at the same time next Saturday, November 22nd at 11 am, in the presence of PhilippAchammer and the curator of the exhibition Peter Weiermair.

The gallery in via della Mostra exhibits historical works of painting, sculpture and works on paper, partly comes from private andpublic collections. For this occasion the works come back, for a short period, in the original place where they were initiallyexposed. Goethe2, in Via Cappuccini, shows the current contemporary artists.

For the two exhibitions there will be printed a book with a timeline of events, in which artists, critics, art historians, art dealers,collectors and journalists comment on the artists themselves, but especially on the central figure of the gallery Ennio Casciaro and his strategies.

The exhibition continues in Via della Mostra until 23nd December 2014 and in Via Cappuccini until January 31st, 2015.
