The exhibition features work by nearly 50 artists selected from the fifth iteration of the museum's Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition, a triennial event founded to support the next wave of portraiture by artists across the U.S.

The first season of the museum’s new podcast is in full swing! History Plunge

The card game covers U.S. history from 1492 through today in an exciting and engaging way, incorporating more than 200 portraits of U.S. Presidents and other notable persons featured in the Portrait Gallery’s collection. It’s the perfect gift for the classroom or home and is available now at LearningPlunge.org.
On Tuesday, Nov. 19, LearningPlunge will also hold its first major multi-school HistoryPlunge tournaments (with levels for grades 3-5, grades 6-8, and grades 9-12) at the Portrait Gallery from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. The event will coincide with the anniversary of President Lincoln’s delivery of the Gettysburg Address.
