National Portrait Gallery to Reopen Friday, May 14
On Friday, May 14, the National Portrait Gallery, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Renwick Gallery, and the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C., will reopen to the public. The National Air and Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia, will open May 5. Selected additional museums and the National Zoo will open their doors Friday, May 21. Beginning Friday, May 14, the National Portrait Gallery will reopen with new days, Wednesday–Sunday, 11:30 a.m.–7 p.m. Free timed-entry passes will be required and will be available for reservations in the coming days at si.edu/visit/passes.
