"Most charming and kind" | Tretyakov Gallery

On December 16 2019 the conference hall of the Tretyakov Gallery in Lavrushinsky lane hosted an event dedicated to the 185th anniversary of the birth of Sergei Tretyakov. Participants honoured Sergei Tretyakov not only as an art collector, patron and public figure, but also as a director of the Moscow branch of the Russian Musical Society.

The 2019 Pavel Tretyakov Awards were presented to Svetlana Romanova, supervisor of the Research and Education Department of the Tretyakov Gallery, who has worked in the gallery for 60 years; Zoya Shergina, an Honoured Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, Head of the Research Library of the Tretyakov Gallery, who has made a major contribution to the development and enhancement of the important museum department; and Irina Kuleshova, expert on cultural values of the Russian Ministry of Culture, and Custodian of the pre-revolutionary paintings collection of the Yaroslavl Art Museum, where she has worked for 50 years. The award winners were congratulated by Zelfira Tregulova, General Director of the Tretyakov Gallery.
