An Evening with Artist Miguel Luciano

Join multimedia visual artist Miguel Luciano as he introduces his current project, Mapping Resistance: The Young Lords in El Barrio, a public art project exploring the activist history of the Young Lords in East Harlem. The Young Lords were a revolutionary group of young Puerto Rican activists who organized for social justice in their communities during the late 1960s and 1970s. Luciano's project features the photography of Hiram Maristany, the official photographer of the Young Lords and a founding member of the New York chapter. Maristany's works will be on view in Carson Family Hall.

These programs are free with Museum admission.

This program is made possible by The William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust, as part of The Met's Kenan Project.
