We are delighted to present Japanese Ceramics, an exhibition featuring over thirty ceramic works by classic artists, such as Suzuki Osamu and Shoji Kamoda, and emerging artists, including Miki Tomii and Rie Aizawa, both of whom are represented for the first time in the UK.
Works by Kenji Hara, Ryūichi Kakurezaki, Yasuhisa Kohyama, Ryoji Koie, Shozo Michikawa, Machiko Ogawa, Mineo Okabe, Hayato Sawada, Keiichi Shimizu, Iwao Shinno, Shiro Tsujimura and Morihiro Wada are also on display.
Highlights of the exhibition include a striking sculpture by Aizawa, impressive by the complexity of its form and colour, and a beautiful vase by Wada with a uniquely rich surface pattern. The show also features a selection of tea bowls by Koie and Ogawa, and a special sake bottle and cup by Tsujimura, which comes from the estate of Anita Besson.
