January is beautiful at Hillwood | 2023

Celebrate the new year at Hillwood. Whether wandering the winter gardens, viewing beautiful exhibitions and displays, or enjoying a cheerful meal from Merriweather Café, Hillwood has something for everyone this season.

Please note: Hillwood will be closed Monday, January 9 through Friday, February 3, 2023 for our annual cleaning. This thorough cleaning of the collections allows Hillwood to maintain the standards expected by our visitors. Thank you for your patience. We hope to see you beginning February 4 for another year of special exhibitions, programs, lectures, and year-round beauty in the gardens.

Haute Holidays at Hillwood draws inspiration from the special exhibition Grace of Monaco: Princess in Dior, with resplendent Christmas trees and holiday décor throughout the estate.

Fashion and mementos from the legendary life of Princess Grace of Monaco are on view in North America for the first time at Hillwood, celebrating her dedicated relationship with haute couturier Christian Dior. The special exhibition Grace of Monaco: Princess in Dior explores the longstanding collaboration between Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco, and Marc Bohan, artistic director at Christian Dior, through clothing, accessories, photos, and more, on special loan from the Palace of Monaco. The exhibition, which originated at the Musée Dior in Granville, France, offers insights into the life of an icon, whose image was created in response to Hollywood’s wish for glamour and the desire for elegance in her stately duties. Grace of Monaco is a tribute to Bohan’s muse in the 1960s and 1970s and a celebration of their enduring partnership through haute couture.
