Pierre Cardin, one of the most celebrated representatives of contemporary art and culture, a Commander of the Legion of Honour, world-famous couturier, designer, architect, creator of opera and ballet productions, an individual of universal talent and a great friend of Russia, marked his 90th birthday on July 2. The Editorial Board of the Tretyakov Gallery magazine is honoured to offer our heartfelt congratulations along the numerous good wishes that the Maestro has received from various countries, governmental and public organizations, from his many friends, colleagues and admirers.

Official and personal greetings were sent by the President and Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli and Tair Salakhov, as well as Andrei Kovalchuk, Chairman of the Russian Union of Artists, who created a bronze sculpture of Cardin and presented it to him on this anniversary. The sculpture was installed next to the Place de la Concorde in Paris, on the Champs-Élysées. Congratulations on the occasion of Pierre Cardin's birthday convey the deep respect and friendship of the Russian people and the nation's prominent cultural figures.
