The theme of mysterious transformations and unsteady reversibility reveals itself in some of Golovin's "lunar" landscapes which are in an open dialogue with the Art Nouveau nocturne park motifs of the Belgian artist William Degouve de Nuncques and his Hungarian peer Jozsef Rippl-Ronai, an acquaintance of Golovin.
